Well I have my grad photos tomorrow.
I am incompetent at hair and make up so this is what I'm doing.
Well one of my favourite places is Yaletown. I love how its not as busy as downtown, but still chic and has almost everything you need. The only downside is that things can get pricey.
So for my hair, based on recommendations I am going to Blo. I've heard plenty of good things about this salon and they should be able to effective deal with my thick coarse and now very damaged hair.
I asked for their suggestions on makeup, Beautymark, Sephora and Mac was what the girl said. I chose Beautymark based on the fact that its close by. Just around 6/7 steps down from Blo. Ill tell you how that goes and maybe have some pictures up too :)
love, VANCOUVER

Freshair Cinema
About a week or two ago, a few friends and I decided to see an outdoor movie down at Stanley Park's Second Beach. Being from the younger generation, we were awed at the old school vibe of such a classic experience. Everything from blankets to sleeping bags and inflatable mattresses were laid out on the grass. People munched on snacks and snuggled beside one another as the summer evening's cool breeze blew past. In no time at all, the night had crept in and Karate Kid had begun. Because Karate Kid was such a popular movie, a majority of the audience was familiar with it - leading to a number of cheers during the "Wax on, wax off" and "Daniel-san" moments. It was a great experience, and definitely something I'd like to do again.
No doubt, an outdoor movie is one of the things you'll need to do before the summer's over. There's one playing at a park or stadium near you, whether it be the east side, west side, or downtown Vancouver. (And even in Richmond, North Vancouver, and Burnaby for all you folks!)
Just a quick tip: bring some snacks and make sure you get there about an hour before the movie begins so you can get a spot! It might be hard to squish in between all those inflatable mattresses and sleeping bags!

Shorefest 2010 - Dan Mangan
On a Wednesday a couple weeks back, Maria and I headed down to English Bay for the Shorefest 2010 - a series of live performance by local musicians before the start of the HSBC Celebration of Light. Arriving only a few minutes before the show, I was not surprised to find there was little to no room left in front of the stage. Naturally, we forced our way through and managed to squeeze into a space in good view of that night's featured artist - Dan Mangan.

1. FOOD, 2. LIFESTYLE, 3.MUSIC, 4. EVENTS, 5. IN'n'AROUND
So, while Melissa is away getting some RandR, I'll have no website updating/design skills.. yet. But I thought I'd give you a taste of whats new.
While at the Folk Fest, we dicussed our little joint project here and have decided to make it a little bit more organized. We have some ideas, most of them are works in progess but if you have any suggestions we'll gladly take them.
Thanks!

New Look, New Life?
Hey! Look at the great job Mel has done in re-vamping the blog.
Over the summer look forward to a revitalization of the blog, more adventures, more food, and more reasons why Vacouver is the best city in the world.
For me this summer, I'm not:
at Camp
doing an Outward Bound trip
going to summer school
volunteering like crazy
I am:
working like crazy at an indoor pool
trying to figure out what gets my heart beating faster..
enjoying the summertime in Vancouver.
Look forward to posts from my mini adventures :)
If you're interested:
come join me on my weekly hike up the Grouse Grind
and once a week chillings with Mel
For now, Im out.
